DETROIT, Jan. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- The public is invited to stop by AAA Michigan's Motorsports display at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in the Michigan Hall (lower level) at Cobo Center in Detroit today through Sunday (Jan. 18-21). Thanks to Michigan International Speedway, which is hosting today's "Racing Day," AAA will have the new #6 race car on display, and fans will have the opportunity to race in the #6 AAA simulator race car in a virtual experience of roaring around Daytona International Speedway at more than 200 mph.
Everyone winning their race in the simulator will receive a certificate noting the speed they attained. Top scorers in AAA's simulator will be entered in a contest, with prizes including 1/24 die-cast models of the new vehicle. The race car will be on display throughout the remaining days of the auto show. The simulator will operate from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. today through Sunday. The public is welcome to stop by and pick up a "hero" card of David Ragan, the new full-time driver of the team's flagship #6 AAA Ford Fusion in 2007. The #6 has been the foundation of the Roush Racing stable. Ragan, 21, began racing at age 11 in the Bandolero Series. He will compete for the title of Rookie of the Year in the Nextel Cup Series this year. AAA has partnered with Roush Racing to serve as the primary sponsor of the Ford Fusion.
AAA Michigan offers automotive, travel, insurance and financial services to more than 1.6 million members in Michigan. It is part of The Auto Club Group (ACG), the largest affiliation of AAA clubs in the Midwest, with approximately 4.1 million members in eight states. ACG belongs to the national AAA federation, a not-for-profit organization with more than 49 million members in the United States and Canada.
